Composition #2 – Top finished

Composition #2 - Nancy Crow workshop - Quilt top

I finished yesterday my top following exercise #2 of Nancy Crow workshop. And I am really happy with how it turned out ! 🙂

I used only red and blue solids but with various shades, quite close to each other. I don’t kow if you can see it well on the pictures. I think it makes that composition more interesting.

The last few days I rework the overall layout and made changes to the blocks I finished last week. (I should not have pieced them together … but I have a good seam ripper 🙂 ). The changes are really slight but it makes all the difference …

  1. This is fantastic Sophie, so bold and striking. I love the way you've placed the blocks to create that dynamic diagonal. I see that you might be joining Quilty 365 over at Audrey's and I really look forward to seeing what you do – I was looking at your circle quilts the other day and I think you'll make something amazing 🙂

  2. It's really a lovely composition. Sometimes an exercise like this helps us see things so differently. Imagine all that with two color families!
