Ce petit projet était le #2 sur ma liste pour le dernier trimestre du Finish-Along 2017. Je l’avais commencé en juillet dernier pour illustrer mon tutoriel de cercle appliqué main.
Throughout the piecing I wondered what colour to add to my black and neutral fabric pull. Finally I am happy that I didn’t settle on any colour because clearly the answer was ‘neutrals only’.
Tout au long de l’assemblage, je me suis demandée quelle couleur ajouter à ma sélection de tissus noirs et neutres. Finalement, je suis contente de ne m’être décidée pour aucune couleur car la réponse était clairement “tons neutres seulement”.
I quilted it densely with a regular grid (about 3/8″ spacing) and I love the texture effect on the circles.
Je l’ai quilté de manière dense avec un quadrillage régulier (espacement d’environ 1 cm) et j’adore l’effet de texture sur les cercles.
The backing fabric is Geometry print from the Modern Background Paper collection by Zen chic for Moda. I often make envelope backing but this time I tried a double layer of fabric instead of a simple hemmed piece of fabric. I found this idea on Amanda Jean’s blog, Crazy Mom Quilts, and I think the double layers give a better weight to the backing.
Le tissu du dos est un imprimé Geometry de la collection Modern Background Paper de Zen chic pour Moda. Je termine souvent avec une fermeture portefeuille mais cette fois j’ai essayé une couche double de tissu au lieu d’une pièce de tissu simple avec ourlet. J’ai pris cette idée sur le blog d’Amanda Jean, Crazy Mom Quilts, et je trouve que les doubles couches donnent une meilleure tenue au dos du coussin.
