Here is finally the full picture of the project I have been quilting these past weeks ! I tried to keep you in suspense … 😉
The design is inspired by an artwork painted on a derelict gas station in London by Craig and Karl, two artists who create bold work using different mediums.
My goddaughter was very enthusiastic and imagined streets and crosswalks as soon as she saw my quilt. It led me to name it Funky Town, which is also a nod to the eighties. Do you remember this song, Funkytown ? ‘ … Town to keep me movin’, Keep me groovin’ with some energy … ‘
” … Town to keep me movin’, Keep me groovin’ with some energy … ” . A traduire par “Une ville qui me fait bouger, qui me fait danser avec énergie”. Un peu moins cool en français …
As usual when I want to get accurate curves I stitched them using a hand applique technique. This might change in the future since I took Jenny’s class a few weeks back … 🙂
