Hand stitching over the week end

On Saturday I made some progress on my Quilty 365 project. Actually I stitched all day and I am quite caught up now ! I had three circles left to stitch for the second quilt I am making as part of this project.

I also stitched the first circles for my third quilt. For this one I decided to use a blue – grey – yellow colour combination.

I spent the day with my friends of Patchmania group and it looks like hexies are in the air at the moment … Josette keep working on her hexies border I spoke about late in March. As you can see her desk is as neat as it was on the first picture. And, no, she didn’t tidy up before I got a shot !

Paula is working with a pattern released in an issue of Quiltmania magazine. It is a medallion quilt which centre is formed of grandmother’s flower garden blocks. She chose to use these pretty 1930’s reproduction fabrics.

And just to give you an idea of the hexies size …  I have never tried the EPP method and I have to say I am really tempted. That would be a handy project to take on the go.

Marie-Thérèse is on track to finish a king size quilt and at that point she got into stitching quite eleven meters (twelve yards) of binding … 😉

For the moment I am sitting outside, enjoying the terrace before it rains. I planned to do some hand quilting later on today.

  1. I've liked your first 2 lots of circles and love the colours you have chosen for the third group – it's looking great already.

  2. I am about a week behind on my Quilty365. This is a holiday weekend here so I have some chores to do before the family gets here, but hopefully can spare a half hour to do some preparing on mine.

  3. You've taken Quilty 365 to a whole different level by making 4 quilts. I like the third one you've started the best of the 3 so far although all are lovely. I need to catch up on some of my circles.

  4. Bonsoir Sophie,

A méditer donc… 😉
    Bonne semaine !

Sophie

  7. My goodness! You and your friends have been busy. Love all the projects. (How does Josette stay so neat with her work??). Do like the new colour way for your third quilt. I have just a few (!) circles to do to be up to date. You're doing very well.

  8. Oh Sophie, this is such a lovely post to see what you and your friends have been up to! I can't believe how neat and tidy Paula is – would never happen in my world, haha! Your circle quilts are looking really good. I hope I can catch up again soon, the teenage stress is finally abating 😀 And I definitely think you should pack a few hexies for an on the go project, they're so addictive!
