OMG – February goal

My quilt tops can be divided into two categories. First is ‘Hope-quilting-add-some-interest’ and second ‘Hope-quilting-won’t-ruin-it’. And this top which was actually not on the schedule definitely belongs to the second category ! It is a happy end for these four blocks I made with wrong measurements when pattern testing for Julie @builtaquilt. Finishing this small wall hanging quilt is my goal for February One Monthly Goal.

Mes tops peuvent être répartis en deux catégories. La première est “J’espère que le quilting ajoute un peu d’intérêt” et la deuxième “J’espère que le quilting ne va pas tout gâcher”. Et ce top qui n’était en fait pas du tout prévu au programme fait partie de la deuxième catégorie ! C’est un happy end pour ces quatre blocs réalisés avec des mauvaises dimensions en testant un modèle pour Julie @builtaquilt. Terminer ce petit panneau mural est mon but pour le One Monthly Goal de février.

I basted it over the week end and since I was on a roll I also basted my Plus quilt top made last November at a quilting retreat. (Note to self – Too much basting at once … )
Je l’ai faufilé pendant le week-end et sur ma lancée j’ai aussi faufilé mon top Plus réalisé en novembre dernier lors d’une retraite patchwork. (Note – Trop de faufilage à la fois … )

I also started hand stitching the binding onto the back of my secret project. Don’t you think this print is perfect for a binding ?!
J’ai aussi commencé à coudre à la main le binding au dos de mon projet secret. Ne trouvez-vous pas que cet imprimé est parfait pour un binding ?!

I love the resulting pattern on the front of the quilt after folding the binding onto the back.
J’adore le motif créé sur le devant du quilt après avoir plié le binding vers l’arrière.

  2. All lovely! I love that pink/black striped print that adds so much jazz to the pink / black block. The Plus quilt is simple and elegant and I can't wait to see it finished. That binding is amazing and I'm sure it will look fantastic on the secret quilt!

  5. All so nice! I can't wait to see Positively Transparent quilted. I've never seen your quilting even come close to ruining a quilt. And yes, that binding makes a striking pattern when sewn down. Gook luck finishing your goals!

  6. J'aime beaucoup ce binding. L'ensemble est ravissant. Pourriez-vous me donner la largeur du binding. Je les fais également sur une largeur de 7 cm, replié par moitié. D'avance merci

  9. Merci beaucoup ! Quand je travaille en centimètres, mon binding est de 6 cm de large et je le pose à 0.75 cm du bord. Si je travaille en inches, je coupe des bandes de 2"1/4 (environ 5.5 cm) et je couds le binding à 1/4" du bord du quilt.

  10. I love those triangles! The pink really stands out against the grey!! I'm with you on the quilting! Too much? Too little? Its the hardest part of the process for me!
