I am really happy with my choice for quilting design : diagonal straight lines by machine. I think it gives a kind of movement to the circles.

Matched with the bench 😉 / Assorti au banc 😉

But it’s better to look at my quilting from a distance … 😉 My “straight lines” are not quite straight though I spent some time marking all the lines … And on top of that, the print of the “filling” fabric highlights it ! Technically, I set stitch length to 3, but in fact my stitches vary between 2 and 4 :-(( sigh …

  1. It's a lovely quilt and I love the way you chose to quilt it. You can never go wrong with diagonal line quilting! No one will be looking at the lines and stitch length except you. 🙂 Celebrate your beautiful finish!!

  3. What an incredible finish! Love how you put this together. Makes me rethink having similar background fabrics. Wonderful.:)

  6. I love how you varied the size of the backgrounds. Stunning! And the diagonal straight line quilting over the squares and circle was the perfect choice. Great finish!

  7. Well I can't see any imperfections – I love this quilt! The design is fabulous and the quilting is just right. Congrats. And look at all that snow!! It's been so hot here (Down Under) that I'm breathing in cold air just looking at the pictures and cooling my body down. Thank you!

  8. Sophie it's so beautiful! I can't believe you've made a quilt already and it's a really good size too. I love the way you've used the blue 'filler' fabric and the quilting looks pretty darn perfect to me. (You should see the state of some of my hand quilting at the moment, ugh!) Big congratulations on such a gorgeous finish 🙂

  9. Oh my goodness, your quilt is SO beautiful! I just love everything about it, the colors, the composition, the quilting. Fantastic and well done!

  10. Well your are one quick lady! I love so much about your quilt and perhaps this will help you to admire it too! I absolutely love the way you put your squares together, I think it is a beautiful design! And I love your straight line stitching right across the quilt – also a perfect design idea!It is a very beautiful quilt!

  11. Your quilt is stunning! Why do we obsess with our imperfection, since we're often the only ones that know about them? (I do the same thing…!)

  12. Your quilt is so satisfying to look at. It's a real beauty. The colors, the placement, the quilting all come together. Nice job!
