Inspiration

The event takes place in different locations and not in a convention centre as is often the case for quilt shows. So before leaving, I checked the detailed programme and determined which exhibits I absolutely wanted to visit. Of course I was eager to see the quilts of France Patchwork ‘Modern Quilt’ competition since my Bubble Gum quilt was at display. It’s always interesting to see what other participants made. Have you heard about ultraviolet, the Pantone colour of the year for 2018 ? You maybe already have included some in your work. Though I like wearing purple I find it hard to use that colour in my quilts. This did not stop me from buying ONE YARD of Kona Bright Periwinkle with grand plans in mind ! I included linen / cotton blend fabrics in some of my recent quilts, Retro for example, and wanted to show you other makes with fabrics heavier than quilting cotton.
