2024 Projects – March Update

It took me a while for getting back to sewing after Quiltcon but I managed to make progress on all my projects these past weeks!

Cela m’a pris un peu de temps pour me remettre au patchwork après Quiltcon mais j’ai réussi à avancer tous mes projets ces dernières semaines !

#2 – Log Cabin & Dots Project

The quilt top for my project #2 is finished and basted!

Le top de mon projet #2 est terminé et faufilé !

#3 – Memphis Style inspired Project

I took the picture below while I was attaching the hanging sleeve to the back of my quilt but I finished it meanwhile! Except the label … Actually I need to catch up on labelling a few recent quilts!

J’ai pris la photo ci-dessous alors que j’était en train de poser le manchon au dos de mon quilt mais je l’ai terminé entretemps ! Excepté l’étiquette … En fait, j’ai un peu de retard à rattraper pour les étiquettes de mes derniers quilts !

#4 – Bars & Dots Project

I could divide the background of this project in three units which is more convenient to work on. I marked the placement of the circles and started to stitch them on the middle part.

J’ai pu diviser le fond de ce projet en trois unités ce qui est plus pratique pour travailler dessus. J’ai marqué le positionnement des cercles et commencé à les coudre sur la partie centrale.

#5 – Handwork Project

I reworked the design and dimensions to make this project smaller. I was lucky to find at Quiltcon the exact tones (curry and aubergine) I was running out. The piecing is partly done and I am now stitching the sixteen circles which are in the center of the design.

J’ai retravaillé le design et les dimensions pour réduire ce projet. J’ai eu la chance de trouver à Quiltcon les tons exacts (curry et aubergine) qui me manquaient. Le piécé est fait partiellement et je suis en train d’appliquer les seize cercles qui se trouvent au centre du design.

Upcoming ART-TEX exhibit

ART-TEX will exhibit in a gallery located in the center of a small town, Châtel-St-Denis, in just a few weeks. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to attend in person as I will be travelling at this time. The gallery is open Friday from 4pm to 8pm and Saturday / Sunday from 1:30pm to 6pm. Marianne, Martine, Monique & Patricia will be on site alternately to welcome you.

ART-TEX exposera dans une galerie située au centre ville de Châtel-St-Denis (Suisse), dans quelques semaines. Malheureusement, je ne pourrais pas y assister en personne car je serai en voyage à cette période. La galerie est ouverte le vendredi de 16h à 20h et samedi / dimanche de 13h30 à 18h. Marianne, Martine, Monique & Patricia seront sur place à tour de rôle pour vous accueillir.

Other News

I have a BIG project which is not quilting related. My husband and I will be hiking in the UK for the next three months! It is the plan anyway …
While traveling, I will post here anyway as I have three finished projects I still haven’t blogged about. So stay tuned!

J’ai un GRAND projet qui n’est pas lié au patchwork. Mon mari et moi partons marcher en Grande-Bretagne pour les trois prochains mois ! C’est ce qui est prévu en tout cas …
Pendant le voyage, je publierai quand même ici car j’ai trois projets terminés à propos desquels je n’ai pas encore écrit d’article. Donc restez connectés !

Will I bring some hand work with me? The answer has changed a few times these past months … The current answer is ‘yes’. I am thinking of bringing my circles for project #4 and baste them on resting days. But my bags are not packed yet, so I could still change my mind! I will take a sketch book anyway. I hope to come up with an idea for the quilting of my project #3 by the end of the trip.

Est-ce que je vais emporter avec moi du travail main ? La réponse a changé plusieurs fois ces derniers mois … La réponse actuelle est “oui”. Je pense emmener mes cercles pour le projet #4 et les faufiler pendant les jours de repos. Mais mes valises ne sont pas encore faites, donc je pourrais encore changer d’avis ! Je vais prendre un carnet de dessin en tout cas. J’espère aboutir à une idée de dessin de quilting pour mon projet #3 avant la fin du voyage.
