I took a break from stitching my circles during the summer. I just felt like working on projects I could finish in a day or two and left long-time projects aside. That means I have now a pile of circles waiting for appliqué …
Today is day #293 for my project and I have blocks ready for my fourth and last Quilty 365 quilt.
For quilt #3 on the left, for quilt #4 on the right |
I haven’t yet finished stitching all the circles for the third quilt but I wanted to show you my new colour combination 🙂 Black and white combined to primary colours.
I started to join a few circles for the third quilt with the same process I used for my first one. I piece three or four circles together, adding a “filling fabric” when necessary. I cut backgrounds of different sizes and then need stripes to fill the gaps. I chose a white print designed by Carolyn Friedlander (what a surprise !) as filling fabric, actually the same I used as background for my Amish Grace top.

This is the year of curves for me! I've already tackled one project and have a workshop coming up in October focusing solely on curves. I am totally encouraged by your stack of curves and can't wait to see this project come together!
I love that you are making the backgrounds different sizes!! Great fabric choices too!
Your first circle quilt is beautiful, and I love your choices of red, black, and white for one of the others. What a great set of quilts this will be in the end!
Your circles are great whatever the color! Loving the black/white/primary combo!
Profite bien !
What a brilliant layout; making each block dynamic. I think I'm going to try this in a new project very soon! Thanks for sharing your idea.
Brilliant!
Love both colour combos and that design layout in the first quilt, works beautifully
As always, I tremendously enjoy your fabric selections!
Some lovely bright circles happening there.
I love your colors choices and your idea of making the squares different sizes! Your post made me smile for all it's beauty. Thank you!
Quilt no. 3 is looking good; I still love that group of fabrics. I also very much like the colour scheme for quilt no. 4.
Great colour combination Sophie. Your circles are so neat and tidy, you have a great technique. I like the way you stitch your blocks together with the filler fabric too, it works so well.
Yummy!
