Je continue sur ma lancée ! Deux quilts terminés ce mois …
As soon as I started to join the circles together in rows I thought of a gentle curves quilting and I kept this first thought. You can read about the piecing process here.
I wanted my curves to remain horizontally aligned and since there isn’t any straight line in the layout I used adhesive tape as a guide.
At that point I pondered on quilting density. Sometimes difficult to know when to stop …
I finally decided to complete the machine quilting with hand stitches, a detail noticeable when you take a closer look at the quilt.
These fabrics are from shirts that belonged to my father and they were the starting point for this quilt. In each block there is a bit of shirt eiher for the background or for the circle. I used a text print from First of Infinity collection by Lecien to brighten up the fabric choice.

Wonderful Sophie! I thought the blocks were amazing as you posted along the way but the final result is out of this world: so beautiful.
I love this! Truly a piece of art made special by the use of your father's shirts. The quilting is wonderful!
I really like what you've done here!
I love this! There's so much movement and chaos but at the same time, the consistency of the circles lends a certain 'calmness' and keeps the whole thing together. Thank you for sharing!
Love the quilt especially that there are many pieces of your father's shirts in it. what a wonderful tactile memory to have. The beautiful organic quilting, reminded me of ocean waves, the soothing in and out of the surf. Merry Christmas to you and yours from Iowa.
Love this quilt and how you used your father's shirts. The quilting beautifully complements the circles.
I love the quilts you are making with your Quilty365 blocks!
What a beautiful finish Sophie! I loved that you used your father's shirts for this and the hand stitching just sends this over the top for me. Great, great job! 🙂
Very beautiful, and I love how you have quilted it with the wavy lines!
