La vie est trop courte – A finished quilt

I completed my Improv log Cabin before end August, so on time for our group exhibition !
J’ai terminé mon Log Cabin improvisé avant fin août, donc à temps pour notre exposition de groupe !

I call it ‘La vie est trop courte’ which can be translate as ‘Life is too short’. The name was inspired by the texts on the printed fabric such as ‘Go for it’.
Je l’ai appelé “La vie est trop courte”. Le nom est inspiré par les textes sur le tissu imprimé comme “Go for it”, qui peut être traduit par “vas-y”, “fonce”, …

That is probably not obvious at first glance but I used only one print for this quilt. This very varied fabric is from Lecien First of Infinity collection and served as the basis for choosing my solids.
I used some scraps of it in my binding and did some maths for the placement. I didn’t feel very proud when I noticed that despite my calculations the interesting part of the print was on the back side … :-)) And all the binding was stitched at that point …

Ce n’est probablement pas évident au premier coup d’oeil mais j’ai utilisé un seul imprimé pour ce quilt. Ce tissu très varié vient de la collection First of Infinity de chez Lecien et a servi de base pour le choix de mes unis.
J’ai utilisé des restes de celui-ci dans mon binding et fait quelques calculs pour le placement. Je n’étais pas très fière quand j’ai constaté que malgré mes réflexions la partie intéressante de l’imprimé était sur le dos … :-)) Et le binding était entièrement posé à ce moment-là …

I left some non quilted areas to emphasise arrows and a few other shapes. I probably didn’t choose the best way to do it, based on the number of threads to bury …
J’ai laissé des zones non quiltées pour mettre l’accent sur les flèches et quelques autres formes. Je n’ai probablement pas choisi la meilleure manière pour le faire, compte tenu de la quantité de fils à arrêter …

As I did for a few of my quilts recently, I chose a neutral tone quilting thread for most of the quilt and added here and there some lines with other colours.
Comme je l’ai fait pour quelques quilts récemment, j’ai choisi un fil à quilter neutre pour la majeure partie du quilt et j’ai ajouté ici et là quelques lignes de couleurs différentes.
