On Sunday, the weather was perfect to sit by the fire, eat a cheese fondue and make some hand appliqué drinking a cup of tea … So that’s what I did 🙂
I sewed a few circles for my Quilty 365 project. I am now on day 80 (project started on November 14).
Today, Audrey opened the February linky party and you can have a look at everyone else’s projects.


 Dimanche, le temps était idéal pour rester au coin du feu, manger une fondue au fromage et faire un peu d’appliqué main en buvant une tasse de thé … Et c’est ce que j’ai fait 🙂
J’ai appliqué quelques cercles pour mon projet Quilty 365. Je suis maintenant au jour 80 (projet commencé le 14 novembre).
Aujourd’hui, Audrey a ouvert le “linky party” de février et vous pouvez jeter un oeil aux projets des autres.

Some days I am in the mood to make simple circles like my “King’s Cross Station”, on other days I feel like sewing scrappy circles.
Certains jours, je suis d’humeur à réaliser des cercles simples comme mon “King’s Cross Station”, d’autres jours je choisi des cercles faits de scraps.

I already joined a few circles in an improv’ way and I am really happy with the result so far. You can read more about the process here.
J’ai déjà assemblé quelques cercles de manière improvisée et jusqu’à maintenant je suis vraiment contente du résultat. Vous pouvez en lire plus sur la réalisation ici.

Quilty 365 - Hand applique circles - Work in progress - Improv' piecing

I decided to divide my Quilty 365 project into four quilts of about 90 circles each. My first quarter will end on February 14. So, for next Audrey’s linky party early March I hope to show you the quilt top for quarter #1 and the first circles of quarter #2 for which I will use a slightly different colour scheme.
J’ai décidé de diviser mon projet Quilty 365 en quatre quilts d’environ 90 cercles chacun. Mon premier quart finit le 14 février. Donc, pour le prochain “linky party” de Audrey début mars, j’espère vous montrer le top du quart #1 et les premiers cercles du quart #2 pour lesquels je vais utiliser une combinaison de couleurs un peu différente.

Yesterday I also started a new project (oops …) with hand appliqué. I will tell you more about it shortly, but here is just a sneak peek.
Hier, j’ai aussi commencé un nouveau projet (oups …) avec de l’appliqué main. Je vous en dirai plus prochainement, mais voici déjà un aperçu.

  1. Your improv block layout for your circles is wonderful. That last block for your new project is one I keep seeing. It looks like a perfect filler block for a new project I'm working on. Are you hand or machine piecing those quarter circles?

  9. J'aime énormément ta version très contemporaine du Quilty 365, tes 4 panneaux seront super ! Pour ma part, en commençant en janvier j'ai vu tellement de magnifiques versions différentes que je n'ai plus su quoi choisir et je suis restée terriblement traditionnelle avec l'idée de faire disparaître un maximum de scraps. Quant au nouveau projet…je sens qu'il va beaucoup me plaire, j'ai hâte d'en voir plus.

  12. I really like your circles, they are so interesting in the form you've created and are a striking overall image! I'm also making smaller sized covers, I couldn't bear having to stitch and quilt all 365 at once lol I know my limitations!
