After a three month break it wasn’t easy to get back to my quilting projects … But I finally jumped back into work and managed to get my motivation back!
Après une pause de trois mois, ça n’a pas été facile de reprendre mes projets patchwork … Mais je me suis finalement replongée dans le travail et la motivation est de retour !
#2 – Log Cabin & Dots Project
The quilt top was completed and basted before I left last April. Sketching a quilting design is one of the few things quilting related I did while travelling. So I was ready to start the quilting step when I got back and spent quite a few hours on my machine these past three weeks!
Le top était terminé et faufilé avant mon départ en avril dernier. Dessiner une idée de quilting est une des seules choses liées au patchwork que j’ai faite pendant le voyage. Donc j’étais prête à commencer l’étape de quilting à mon retour et j’ai passé pas mal d’heures sur ma machine ces trois dernières semaines !
This project is soon to be completed since I am now hand stitching the facing!
Ce projet est sur le point d’être terminé car je suis maintenant en train de coudre le facing à la main !
#3 – Memphis Style inspired Project
Actually I finished this project last March. I finally came up with a name, Construction, and wrote a blog post about it while travelling. You can read the post here in case you missed it.
En fait, j’ai terminé ce projet en mars dernier. Je lui ai finalement trouvé un nom, Construction, et écrit un article de blog pendant le voyage. Vous pouvez lire l’article ici si vous l’avez manqué.
#4 – Bars & Dots Project
I didn’t set any deadline to myself for this project. I work on this one in between other projects or when I need some handwork to take away with me. Actually I basted a few circles while we had a resting day in our walk in Scotland. It is also the project I chose to jump back into my quilting routine and stitched a few circles to the background.
Je ne me suis pas fixée de délai pour ce projet. Je travaille dessus entre d’autres projets ou quand j’ai besoin de travail main à emmener avec moi. J’ai d’ailleurs faufilé quelques cercles lors d’un jour de repos dans une de nos marches en Ecosse. C’est aussi le projet que j’ai choisi pour me replonger dans ma routine patchwork et j’ai appliqué quelques cercles sur le fond.
#5 – Handwork Project
I made a lot of progress on this project these past three weeks. I finalized the design on my computer, appliqued the three big circles and finished assembling the quilt top! I am now working on the quilting design.
J’ai bien avancé sur ce projet ces trois dernières semaines. J’ai finalisé le design sur mon ordinateur, appliqué les trois grands cercles et terminé l’assemblage du top ! En ce moment, je travaille sur le design du quilting.
#6 – QuiltCon Fabric Challenge
I am adding a new project to the list. The selection for next year QuiltCon Fabric Challenge was revealed last May. I decided to take part in, as I did these past few years, though I found the colours a bit dull. In the meantime I saw projects in progress on Instagram and I have been happily surprised by this colour palette. So we’ll see …
The fabrics were waiting for me when I came back from my travel (thank you my friend ❤).
J’ajoute un nouveau projet à la liste. La sélection pour le Fabric Challenge du prochain QuiltCon a été révélée en mai dernier. J’ai décidé de participer, comme ces dernières années, bien que j’ai trouvé les couleurs un peu ternes. Entre-temps j’ai vu des projets en cours sur Instagram et j’ai été surprise en bien par cette palette. Donc à voir …
Les tissus m’attendaient à mon retour de voyage (merci my friend ❤)
Other News
My Fragment quilt made for patCHquilt challenge Ego & Artifex will be exhibited in a quilt festival in Riga (Latvia). Due to limited space, only a selection of twenty-one quilts from this challenge will travel. The whole collection will be on display next March in Nyon (Switzerland) though.
SoX made by my friend Sophie Thomas will also travel to Riga. The starting point for her quilt is an Artwork by Sophie Taeuber-Arp (1889-1943), a Swiss artist who notably worked in geometric abstract art.
Mon quilt Fragment réalisé pour le challenge patCHquilt Ego & Artifex sera exposé dans un festival de quilts à Riga (Lettonie). A cause de l’espace restreint, seulement une sélection de vingt et un quilts de ce challenge sera exposée. La collection complète sera visible à Nyon (Suisse) en mars prochain cependant.
SoX réalisé par mon amie Sophie Thomas voyage aussi à Riga. Le point de départ de son quilt est une oeuvre de Sophie Taeuber-Arp (1889-1943), une artiste Suisse qui a notamment travaillé en art géométrique abstrait.

Sounds like a lot of amazing progress is being made now that you have jumped back in 🙂 I love the sneak peek at the facing stage. I have never done a facing or looked into the process. Looks interesting with the individual strips (instead of folded corners) xo
