One of the upsides of self-isolating ?! My agenda became very light for this Spring 😉 So when Julie @builtaquilt asked me if I was willing to test her new pattern I was happy to agree ! I chose the Baby size option. I know I know … the easiest choice when testing a pattern … 😉
I had to customize a bit the pattern since I absolutely wanted to use one of the Bubble Letters prints for the background. They are from a collection designed by Latifah Saafir, Double Dutch Fabric. They were in my stash for a couple of years, waiting for the right project. And the time had come ! Even if I knew I was short of both I could not get that idea out of my head … 🙂 And then I did a few maths and combined the two colorways of this print instead of using one fabric for the background. I also had to slightly reduce the width of the borders for the same reason. I have always been an optimistic when it comes to fabric quantity required for a project …
This pattern, Piers, should be available at the end of May on Julie’s website. I had tested the pattern for her Mountains and Valleys quilt back in 2018 as well. You can see here the Baby quilt size and here, Pink Invaders a wall hanging I made from the same block.
that must have been one long math session… glad you could figure it out 🙂 xo Melanie
