Orange Pop – A finished quilt

Actually I finished this quilt late in March and you maybe remember seeing a sneak peek from time to time. I just couldn’t help it … :-)) It is a pattern I designed for France Patchwork magazine, Les Nouvelles, and I can share it today at last since it is released in June issue. +

France Patchwork magazine #133

Some years ago I looked through an issue of France Patchwork magazine that a friend brought to our group meeting and really appreciated the articles. I decided to become a member of the guild right then.So when my friend Katell, who writes a column about modern quilts, encouraged me to write for the magazine I felt flattered … +

Rythme – A finished quilt

This quilt wasn’t at the top of my project to-be-completed-quickly list …Ce quilt n’était pas en haut de ma liste de projets à terminer rapidement … I first just wanted to see what the quilting would bring to this top and started to quilt straight lines spaced from 1″. +

Workshop with Maryline Collioud-Robert

Last week I attended a two days workshop with Maryline Collioud-Robert on the theme working and having fun with scraps. We did different exercises throughout the weekend making easy blocks. Each student worked with her own fabrics following instructions to select colours and values. At the end of each exercise Maryline mixed all our blocks and arranged them together. One of the goals was to illustrate we can mix all sort of fabrics and styles and get a consistent and interesting whole as long as we define first some basic rules. +

Thoughts on facing a quilt

As promised when I shared pictures of my latest finish, here is a specific blog post about the finishing process of this project.I faced a couple of quilts in the past but never took the time to find a way to make corners properly … For this project I knew I had not only four corners to deal with but sixteen … I thought it was worth focusing on that point and I even made three samples ! +

Trip to Nadelwelt in Karlsruhe

I had never been to Nadelwelt, an event for needlecraft in Karlsruhe (Germany), before and didn’t planned to go this year either. We drove all morning on Saturday and could see quilts exhibitions in the afternoon, keeping the visit to booth vendors for the following… +

Ephémère – Four connected quilts

An other finish on my list for the second quarter of 2017 FAL !Un autre projet terminé sur ma liste pour le deuxième trimestre du FAL 2017 ! All through the process I had in mind the placement above. But as my friends pointed out to me last week, other placements create new shapes which are really interesting as well. +

New tote bag

First project on my list for the second quarter of 2017 Finish-Along done !Premier projet de ma liste pour le deuxième trimestre du Finish-Along 2017 terminé ! Instead of wool or wax I worked with two prints from Carolyn Friedlander Euclid collection which are linen/cotton blends. I love Anna’s simple style and all little extras such as rivets that gives a professional look.J’ai utilisé le modèle wool + wax tote dessiné par la talentueuse Anna Graham de Noodlehead. +

Improv Handbook

I haven’t blogged about my improv’ exercises from Sherri Lynn Wood book for a while but have some progress to share today. My top for Score #5 is finished ! At last … Before I started working on this exercise I thought it would be a very easy one. And it is technically easy. You maybe see the layout of my blocks as random but actually I spent a lot of time too much time procrastinating… +
