Latest News

Unsurprisingly, Mind the Gap wasn’t accepted into the Mini Quilts section of Curated Quilts upcoming issue. But I’m happy to share that Sophie’s project will be published! I had also submitted my Bubble Gum quilt to the Gallery section but I haven’t received any answer for this one yet. +

Mind The Gap – A finished quilt

Mind The Gap is my submission to Curated Quilts latest challenge. This issue is about Negative Space and ‘gap’ is the prompt for the mini quilt section. Ordering the fabric bundle with exact colorways is not feasible for me considering the delivery time and the short timeline for submitting. So I tried to find in my stash the best matching colours, using the image… +

Impact – A finished Quilt

I shared in progress pictures of this project in several previous posts and I’m happy to be able to show you now the final result! While writing this post, I looked for my notes about the piecing but didn’t find anything. Possibly because I didn’t write anything 😉 So I have to rely on my poor memory … I drew the overall design to its actual size on paper and then cut… +

Some news about what I’ve been working on since my latest post … 🙂 Quelques nouvelles de l’avancement de mes projets depuis mon dernier article … 🙂 Quilting I started the quilting on a top which has been waiting since last July. While designing this project I already had in mind to mix machine and hand quilting. The machine quilting part is now almost finished and the addition of big hand stitches is well under way. +

AAA – Exhibit Review

The exhibit closed this past Sunday, so it is time now for a review of this new to me experience of exhibiting with artists outside of the textile sphere. The atmosphere was friendly on the whole and I was pleased to get to know and share with other participants. +

AAA – Upcoming Exhibit

A quick post to tell you about a local Art exhibition that I will take part in. This is the 46th edition of this event but that was my first time applying. So a brand new experience for me! The event brings together local artists from different disciplines, like painting, drawing, photography, … I thought I would be the only entrant using textile as a medium but I discovered while going through the list that we are two! You can find more details on their website. The list of 24 artists exhibiting this year is here. Click on the participant’s… +

Quiltcon 2022 – Part 1

Quiltcon, the convention dedicated to Modern Quilts, was held in Phoenix (Arizona) this year and I had the chance to attend it again. It is my favorite quilt show not only for the unique quilts, the ambiant enthusiasm and the lectures (I attended eight !), but for the positive and friendly atmosphere that makes it so special. So I am going to start this recap by sharing the work of my friends. +
