Nadelwelt

As mentioned in my previous post, I exhibited with ART-TEX group at Nadelwelt fair in Friedrichshafen (Germany) earlier this month. I had decided that ‘orange’ would be the guideline for choosing my quilts for our gallery.

Comme mentionné dans ma publication précédente, j’ai participé avec le groupe ART-TEX au salon Nadelwelt à Friedrichshafen (Allemagne) au début de ce mois. J’avais décidé que la couleur ‘orange’ serait le fil conducteur pour choisir mes quilts pour notre galerie.

These quilts were made in different years from 2017 to 2022. Orange Pop (2017) and Eclat (2018) had already been on display in various exhibits in Switzerland and abroad. Ceramics (2019) wasn’t really meant to be exhibited … But it was so appreciated at our local quilt exhibition last year that I wanted to give it a second chance 🙂

Ces quilts ont été créés au cours de différentes années entre 2017 et 2022. Orange Pop (2017) et Eclat (2018) ont déjà été montrés dans plusieurs expositions en Suisse et à l’étranger. Je n’avais pas réalisé Ceramics (2019) dans le but de l’exposer … Mais il a été tellement apprécié à notre exposition de groupe l’année dernière que j’ai voulu lui donner une seconde chance 🙂

It was a very first exhibition for Shed (finished last September) but also for my Twist mini quilts though I made this series back in 2019.

C’était une toute première exposition pour Shed (terminé en septembre dernier) mais aussi pour mes minis quilts Twist bien que cette série date de 2019.

Quilt & Fiber Arts Festival

While I was in Friedrichshafen, three of my quilts were on display at the Quilt & Fiber Arts Festival in Washington state! A big thank you to the friends who attended the show and sent me pictures and messages! You can have a look at the best in show and peoples awards here.

Pendant que j’étais à Friedrichshafen, trois de mes quilts étaient exposés au Quilt & Fiber Arts Festival dans l’état de Washington! Un grand merci à mes amies qui ont assisté à l’événement et m’ont envoyé des photos et messages ! Vous pouvez voir le best in show et les choix du public ici.

Actually when I started to fill the submission form, my intention was to submit only my Spotlight quilt. But since the submission fee was fixed for up to three quilts I finally also submitted older work, Funky Town and LOVE. They were all in the Modern Quilt category so they were competing with each other 🙂

En fait, quand j’ai commencé à remplir le formulaire d’inscription, mon intention était de soumettre uniquement mon quilt Spotlight. Mais comme les frais d’inscription étaient forfaitaires pour un à trois quilts, j’ai aussi finalement soumis des travaux plus anciens, Funky Town et LOVE. Ils étaient tous dans la catégorie Modern Quilt donc ils étaient en compétition entre eux 🙂

To my surprise, all three were accepted in the show! And in addition to that, LOVE, which was my third choice, won the second place of the Modern Quilt category 😉

A ma grande surprise, tous les trois ont été accepté pour le festival ! Et en plus, LOVE, qui était mon troisième choix, a remporté la deuxième place de la catégorie Modern Quilt 😉

Eloge du Fil

My work was also on display at Eloge du Fil these past days. Actually you can still see the exhibit in person until Sunday 23 at 5 pm!
I chose a totally different selection of quilts from the one I had on display in Friedrichshafen. The four mini quilts stretched on canvas, that I made for a local Art exhibition back in March, were the starting point for the selection.

Mon travail était aussi exposé ces derniers jour dans le cadre d’Eloge du Fil. En fait, vous pouvez encore voir l’exposition en personne jusqu’à dimanche 23 à 17h!
Ma sélection de quilts est totalement différente de celle que j’ai exposée à Friedrichshafen. Les quatre minis quilts sur canevas, réalisés pour une exposition locale d’Art en mars dernier, étaient le point de départ de ma sélection.

Polka Dot was finished just in time for the event. Impact is also a recent finish but was already exhibited at Festival of Quilts in Birmingham this year. Gelateria dates from 2020 and had already been seen a couple of times.

Polka Dot a été terminé juste à temps pour l’événement. Impact est aussi un travail récent mais a déjà été exposé au Festival of Quilts de Birmingham cette année. Gelateria date de 2020 et a déjà été montré quelques fois.
