Hand applique curves

It sounds my trip to Austin for attending Quiltcon was ages ago and, if I think about it, it is less than two months … Have you also lost track of time lately ?! We are now nearing the end of five weeks of isolation and almost got into rut … The second week had been hard for me though since I felt a bit down. Work in progress

I was sick for a few days last week and stayed warm, under a quilt. I was able to hand stitch meanwhile anyway … J’ai été malade quelques jours la semaine dernière et je suis restée au chaud, sous un quilt. J’ai quand même été capable de coudre à la main pendant ce temps … A lot of circles were appliqued those few days and I could join the units together over weekend. Quilting retreat

Every two years the Club du Léman organizes a three day workshop. Two classes in different fields are usually offered, Patchwork and Textile Art / Mixed media. There is also the opportunity to attend as a quilting retreat and this is the option I chose this year. The class with Katie Pasquini Masopust was called Fractured Landscapes and though you can stylize the picture you chose as a basis, the final result is too pictorial to my taste. The second teacher was Eszter Bornemisza, a Hungarian artist who works with mixed media (fabric, paper and printing). I really admire her works… +

Next logical step

This quilt top is mostly inspired by a pattern designed by Latifah Saafir which was released in Simply Moderne magazine. You can see a picture on my original post. Ce top est en grande partie inspiré par un modèle de Latifah Saafir qui est paru dans le magazine Simply Moderne. Vous pouvez voir une photo sur mon article original. With a few changes though … The original has only one background colour (I used three different fabrics) and the curves are machine pieced (I used hand appliqué). A new hand sewing project

I have been thinking of an easy to take with me hand project for some time now. I started a few but wasn’t crazy about the beginning and gave them up rather quickly. I even tried EPP seeing so many projects on the Internet. But I didn’t really like this piecing method. Je réfléchis depuis quelques temps déjà à un projet main, facile à emporter avec moi. Quilty 365 – Top #4 finished

The fourth and last quilt for my Quilty 365 project progressed at last ! Le quatrième et dernier quilt pour mon projet Quilty 365 a enfin progressé ! I finally went for a print designed by Carolyn Friedlander, Crosshatch white on white, for the background fabric. J’ai finalement opté pour un imprimé de Carolyn Friedlander, Crosshatch blanc sur blanc, pour le tissu de fond. I started to quilt it earlier this week and chose an even grid quilting design. It isn’t worth a picture at the moment but I hope to make some progress in the afternoon and be able… +
