In and out of my studio

What I have been up to lately … Though this quilt is completed right now, here is an in progress picture. I still have to take pictures of the finished piece, in full and some close-ups as well. I started a new project similar to my Gelateria quilt as regards shapes and construction but with a very different colour palette…. +

Quiltcon 2020 – Part 2

I am unpacked now and almost in my everyday routine. But though this time I took homeopathic medicine to prevent jetlag I still haven’t totally recovered … Is it just me ?! Anyway the trip was worth it 🙂 Mes valises sont défaites maintenant et je suis presque revenue à ma routine habituelle. +

Quiltcon 2020 – Part 1

Hey! I am back from my trip to Quiltcon that was held in Austin – Texas this year. Not totally recovered from all the excitement of the show and jetlag. I feel a little less like a zombie today anyway … Quiltcon is a great show but most importantly a place where you can catch up with friends. I had three quilts in the show and my LOVE quilt was the perfect backdrop for a photo shoot with my friends Kathy, Sarah, Marla and Sophie. +

New project – Inspired by a mural

When I posted my list of projects last week, I put first a new project inspired by a mural I saw in Nashville. I made a lot of progress over the weekend and here is what it looks like now ! For the first time I decided to draw the whole design to its actual size on paper. This quilt will be… +

Quiltcon 2019 – Two Color Quilts

For this second post about Quiltcon 2019 (you can read the first one here), I chose to share quilts made with only two or three fabrics or colours, which is something I particularly enjoyed at this year show. Quiltcon 2019 – The fun part

I hope you won’t be bored of seeing my face since it is a lot-of -me-pictures kind of post … 🙂 These four days at Quiltcon have been a whirlwind ! The fun already started at pre-registration, the evening before the show opens, since I met a few friends while waiting in the queue for getting my name tag. The ceremony awards was held right after and I was particularly anxious to attend it. I got an email ten days before to let me know that two of my quilts were awarded. I was surprised to receive the first prize… +

European Patchwork Meeting 2018

The event takes place in different locations and not in a convention centre as is often the case for quilt shows. So before leaving, I checked the detailed programme and determined which exhibits I absolutely wanted to visit. Of course I was eager to see the quilts of France Patchwork ‘Modern Quilt’ competition since my Bubble Gum quilt was at display. It’s always interesting to see what other participants made. But other than that, the number one on my list was Libs Elliott, a Canadian artist and fabric designer. +
