Quiltcon from home

Quiltcon is in full swing in Pasadena at the moment. I had to cancel my trip to California but hopefully I am enjoying the event somewhat through social medias. Thank you so much everyone who shared pictures of my two quilts hanging at the show and who sent me such lovely comments. +

Improv curves – Top finished

Earlier this month the goal I set for January One Monthly Goal was to complete a top with my improv curves blocks. Not only my goal is achieved, I am thrilled about the result ! :-)) At that moment only nine blocks were pieced and I had envisioned the two plain borders in Essex Linen fabric. I finally settled on… +

Plus Quilt – Top finished

I don’t make very often a quilt from a pattern. Not because I don’t find any interesting patterns on the market but rather because I like designing and working in my own way. When I saw Paige’s mini quilt, Positively Transparent, last year on her blog Quilted Blooms I loved it at first sight. So I didn’t hesitate too long when she offered a lap quilt version pattern for Modern Quilt Guild members  … +

First quilt trunk show and class teaching

Blogging is very convenient … You can speak about what you love to do while being behind the scenes. If your readers are bored they just have to move on to the next blog post in their feed and you will never know … But having a quilt trunk show is completely different. Your public is right in front of you and you can’t hide behind your computer screen ! +

Quilty 365 – Top #4 finished

The fourth and last quilt for my Quilty 365 project progressed at last ! I finally went for a print designed by Carolyn Friedlander, Crosshatch white on white, for the background fabric. I started to quilt it earlier this week and chose an even grid quilting design. It isn’t worth a picture at the moment but I hope to make some progress in the afternoon and be able… +

How to baste a quilt – tutorial

I am back from a whole week of quilting retreat in South of France with my friend of Patchmania group. Unfortunately I can’t share with you what I have been making during the week … I worked on two secret projects I planned to submit to next year France Patchwork competition on the theme Modern Quilt. I managed to sew a first top and almost completely the second one. I’d have time to finish it but … as it often happens to me … I ran out of fabric ! If I wasn’t so optimistic I would have admit even… +
