#3 – Windham Fabric Challenge

Since the last update of this list, I finished my project for the Windham Fabric Challenge and I blogged about it in a previous post.

Depuis la dernière mise à jour de cette liste, j’ai terminé mon projet pour le Windham Fabric Challenge et j’ai écrit à ce propos dans un article précédent.

#4 – Handwork Project

I made a lot of progress on this project I thought to submit to Quiltcon in the Handwork category. I think now it won’t be finished before the deadline of October 31 because of other priorities. We’ll see …

Auditioning quilting threads and quilting density. I hesitated between 3/4″ and 1″ squares for the grid design at the center of the quilt.

Choix des fils et de la densité de quilting. J’hésitais entre des carrés de 3/4″ et de 1″ pour le dessin de grille au centre du quilt.

I finally went for a 3/4 ” spacement and decided to alternate machine and hand quilting.

J’ai finalement opté pour un espacement de 3/4″ et décidé d’alterner quilting machine et main.

#6 & #7 – Next ART-TEX exhibit

The quilting is done on this small project I am making for next ART-TEX group exhibit which will be held from October 28 until November 19. I also planned to finish a few small pieces using the blocks I made as part of my 100 Day Project earlier this year. I’d better get to work …
Project #5 is still current though it will have to wait until end of October.

Le quilting est terminé sur ce petit projet pour la prochaine exposition du groupe ART-TEX qui aura lieu du 28 octobre au 19 novembre. J’ai aussi prévu de terminer quelques petites pièces en utilisant les blocs réalisés en début d’année dans le cadre de mon 100 Day Project. Je ferais mieux de m’y mettre …
Le projet #5 est toujours d’actualité mais devra attendre encore jusqu’à fin octobre.

Other News

Unfortunately my Positive quilt was not juried in Quilts=Art=Quilts exhibition. I am disappointed of course though not surprised as I knew it is a selective event. They received submissions from 314 artists, of which 69 were selected for the exhibition.
But let’s be positive! I will try to apply again next year if I have a quilt that meets the requirements. And I will submit Positive to other shows as well.

Malheureusement, mon quilt Positive n’a pas été accepté pour l’exposition Quilts=Art=Quilts. Je suis déçue bien sûr mais pas vraiment surprise car je savais que c’est un événement sélectif. Ils ont reçu des soumissions de 314 artistes, dont 69 ont été sélectionnés pour l’exposition.
Mais restons positifs ! Je tenterai de postuler à nouveau l’année prochaine si j’ai un quilt qui entre dans les critères. Et je vais aussi soumettre Positive à d’autres evénements.
